Curse You, Adam Richman!

Curse you, Adam Richman, CURSE YOU TO HELL!!!!! (Or my alternative title would have been: Why it's good to be a Hawkeye)

Alright, so maybe not so many curses on Adam of Man v Food of the Travel Channel. But dear Lord, my stomach is fuuuuuuuuull. I just need to stop watching that show because I want to cook afterwards. Let me lay just four little words on you:


bacon wrapped Tater Tots.

Adam went to Des Moines, IA earlier this year and had bacon wrapped Tater Tots. I am from Iowa. Why did I not know about these wonderful little pieces of heaven?

1 package thick cut bacon 
1 package of slightly thawed Tater Tots
1 small jar of jalapeno slices 
Shredded cheese 
Oil for frying

Cut the package of bacon in half since you only need a half slice per tot. Lay a Tater Tot and a jalapeno slice at the end of the bacon and roll the bacon around the tot and jalapeno. Secure it with a toothpick. (This is why you need the tots to be slightly thawed, otherwise you'll break the toothpick and stab yourself in the hand. Trust me on this.)

I used my deep fryer for these, and fried them for about 6-8 minutes at 375 degrees. The true cooking time depends on how crispy you like your bacon. I actually did two rounds of them, and with the first batch, the oil wasn't as hot as the second batch. Shake the basket of the fryer to remove the excess oil, or lay them on paper towels. Sprinkle with the shredded cheese.

"Taste so good, make you wanna slap your mama!"

I had heard that saying before, obviously, but I never experienced the actual sensation. I have now.
