Northern Thai-Style Galaam Oop

I recently got a special offer from Hello Fresh to try out some of their dishes (full disclosure: I paid for my meals and they are not paying me for this blog entry).

The first meal I made was tonight, and I made Northern Thai-Style Galaam Oop. The name of this dish refers to both the cooking method (oop) and the cabbage in it (galaam). In Northern Thailand, the “oop” method of cooking involves slowly simmering ingredients over low heat. As the cabbage simmers, it becomes infused with aromatic turmeric and a hint of cayenne.

It's got some pretty nice spicy warmth to it. And it's got two ingredients that I love: cabbage and cilantro. In fact, I even used the peanuts that came with it. I've never cooked with peanuts before.

I think I'll keep my Hello Fresh account going for awhile. For everything I received, it seems like a pretty good deal. I actually didn't even go grocery shopping this week, because I had these meals on the way. I got the 3 meals for 2 people, per week option.

If anyone reading this wants to try Hello Fresh, leave me a comment with your name and email address and I can send a referral your way.
